As all funds are processed through the Documentary Australia Foundation, applicants for funding from The Shark Island Documentary Fund will need to be on the Documentary Australia Foundation approved list.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Please find your thumbnail image on the Documentary Australia Foundation Approved List
  2. Right click (Mac: control-click) on the thumbnail image of your documentary and save it to your drive.
  3. Browse below for the thumbnail on your drive and select it. The image will be uploaded when you click Submit at the bottom of this form.

OR If you want to upload a new image, please size the image to 140 pixels wide by 85 pixels high at 72 dpi and save as .jpg – browse for the image and select it.

Please note that the image to be uploaded must not exceed 1MB in size.

As a grant recipient

The Shark Island Documentary Fund will publish the 150 word synopsis and jpeg on the Shark Island Productions website.

Grant recipients will be required to acknowledge their grant from the Shark Island Documentary Fund in the opening or closing credits of their documentary e.g. Education and Outreach Funding provided by Shark Island Documentary Fund (logo available in black and white or colour).

The Shark Island Documentary Fund accepts applications throughout the year – there are no specific submission deadlines. Applications which do not conform with the guidelines ( i.e. are not already on the Documentary Australia Foundation approved list) will be rejected.

The Shark Island Documentary Fund requires that successful recipients sign a contract which outlines reporting procedures for the project. Please note that personal appointments will not be possible and that all enquiries should be via email only. Applicants will receive written confirmation by email upon receipt of the application. All applicants will receive in writing the outcome of their application. Unfortunately we will be unable to give reasons for the rejection of applications.

Upon request only, other information and materials may be required (e.g. examples of previous work, work in progress or other additional information).
